vIndianz.com (20 Feb, 2010) — New York: Breaking his silence for the first time ever since his extra-marital affairs came to light, disgraced golf star Tiger Woods confessed that he cheated on his wife Elin and apologised publicly for his ‘selfish’ and ‘irresponsible’ behaviour.
In an emotional statement read out before a select media gathering in Florida, the American golf star said he himself was responsible for his actions and was ‘deeply sorry’ and ‘embarrassed’ with all what he did.
Woods also appealed media to leave alone his family saying that the matter is between a husband and a wife.
Woods said he would continue reforming himself and would return to play golf one day but does not know when the day would come.
Woods has kept silence ever since his November 27 car crash, which went on to reveal his shocking infidelity stories.
“I was wrong and foolish. I have hurt my wife, my kids, my wife’s family, friends and kids all around the world. I am truly sorry,” Woods said.
Taking up the blame for all his acts, Woods praised his wife Elin who he said stood by him in the hour of crisis.
Woods also said it categorically that Elin never hit him as was reported by media.
“Elin did not hit me on that night or any other night. The issue is of my irresponsibility. I had the affairs and it was me who cheated. I am the only person to be blamed,” he said.
