The poor standard of umpiring was a matter of concern in the recently concluded second cricket test match between India and Australia and which is lost by India by 122 runs. Almost all the bad decisions given by umpire Steve Bucknor and MR Benson have gone against India.
On the play of very first day, Symonds was clearly out which is even being accepted by him. He got the relief from umpire Steve Bucknor and he then made the century. These type of mistakes caused India the match.
Other than this, Jaffer was given out on a No Ball by Brett Lee in the first inning. One time one stump decision was not given in the favor of India.
Even today on the last day, Saurav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid was given out while they were not. Rahul’s bat has not even touched the ball and he has given out. Again catch of Ganguly has touched the ground and he has given out.
Now the concern of players attitude is also a matter of concern. Rickey Ponting was appealing for a catch that has even touched the ground by him and he was aware from this fact. Even Symonds accepted that he was aware that he was out in the first inning. In second inning Yuvi even went back without seeing the umpire when he was aware that he is out. Even so many times Sachin has gone from the crease without seeing the umpire for the decision, when he was aware that he is out.
Now one question arises, why umpires generally do this type of mistakes in Australia’s tour? The answer is not known to any one, might be these are some type of human mistake or something planned earlier. These type of mistakes causes match to other teams.Â
