Technology.am (Sept. 24, 2009) — UTStarcom, Inc. announced the launch of its Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) Technology Center and Center of Excellence in India.
The IPTV Technology Center will take a lead role in the formation of India’s IPTV regulation, and the Center of Excellence will provide post-sales support for all of UTStarcom’s customers in the country.
The IPTV Technology Center will focus on localization and customization of UTStarcom’s IPTV products in India.
UTStarcom currently has IPTV contracts with leading service providers in India including Bharti Airtel in Delhi NCR, and with Aksh Optifibre for Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) in 20 cities across India and with Aksh Optifibre for Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) in Delhi and Mumbai.
