(vIndianz June 12 2010): Samsung has launched the Star 3G S5603 handset in order to cater to rising demand for 3G handsets in India. The phone is priced at approximately Rs 10,000.
The S5603 Star 3G handset has a 2.8-inch LCD touchscreen with QVGA display. It has 262K colours. A 3.2 megapixel camera with a LED flash is present in the back of the camera. A front-facing camera is also present in the phone for making video calls. TouchWiz v1.0 is the user interface that is present on the phone that also has gesture lock and an accelerometer sensor.
Internal memory in the phone consists of 80MB which can be expanded up to 16GB by adding a microSD card. Users of the phone can also listen to FM radio and also engage in mobile blogging. A music player is also present in the phone and the speakers of the phone are enabled with Digital Natural Sound engine (DNSe) technology. It is powered by a 1000 mAh lithium-ion battery that allows for 3 hours of talk time on every charge.
The Samsung S5603 handset is now available in stores across India.
