(vIndianz May 15 2010): Samsung Electronics, the world’s largest maker of flat screen televisions and ‘Avatar’ director James Cameron have joined hands to work together to boost three-dimensional television content.

An agreement was signed by the duo and under the agreement Cameron and his crew will join hands with South Korea’s top entertainment agency, SM Entertainment to create a 3D footage of music videos highlighting South Korean pop stars. This would be used by Samsung to help promote the sale of 3D content worldwide. Early this year it targeted around two million sales. Samsung said that they might raise this year’s sales target of 3D televisions based on the high demand for the same. Yoon Boo-keun, president of the company’s visual display division said that the demand for the 3D televisions is increasing but the demand is not met accordingly due to the panel shortages. But Samsung believes that they would be able to increase the primary two million sales.

Cameron, according to a physorg.com report, said that the lack of content was the prime obstacle to 3D televisions. Cameron’s ‘Avatar’ is the world’s highest grossing movie earning ticket sales of 2.8 billion dollars. The movie created a 3d wave in the film industry.
