vIndianz.com (28 Dec, 2009) — In a new-fangled twist to the Headley case, it currently turns out that the US national under arrest for plotting terror strikes in India was in touch with one more American who has been living in this nation on a tourist visa for nine years and operating a massage parlor.
Throughout the investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), it has emerged that Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror suspect David Headley got in touch with the American and his female friend through his Moroccan girlfriend in Manali, home ministry officials said.
The American was later spotted in Goa. An inspection of his travel documents astonished the security officials who found that he has been living in India on a tourist visa for the previous nine years.
“He has been doing everything – setting up a business, running a massage parlor, tourist centre etc,” they said.
The couple has been questioned by the NIA which has recorded their statement. The American and his friend admitted to knowing the Moroccan woman, who according to the security agencies, was in Manali doing an investigation of a Jewish centre.
49-year-old Headley was under arrest on October 3 for plotting terror strikes in India at the command of Pakistan-based LeT. Headley has been charge-sheeted by the FBI for being part of the criminal plot behind the 26/11 in Mumbai attacks.
Amongst his targets were the National Defence College in Delhi, RSS headquarters in Nagpur and some film studios and BARC in Mumbai.
