(vIndianz June 7 2010): The weekend that just passed would stay afresh for times to come in the mind of film maker Prakash Jha. Proving that his flick has lived up to the expectations of the film goers across India, Raajneeti has recorded the biggest opening of the year.
Significantly, the multi-starrer film also made the second biggest opening ever, following 3 Idiots which had released last year. The film which cost Rs 55 crore for making and promotion, managed to gross a whopping Rs 10.5 crore on the first day itself and about Rs 33-35 crore over the weekend.
The weekend fete has elevated Raajneeti to a position where it could achieve record collections in the course of its run. The fact that there are no other big movie releases scheduled for release the next weekend gives Raajneeti even better chance of collecting more.
