(vIndianz, 27 March 2010): Two nuclear capable missiles – Dhanush and Prithvi II – were successfully tested by India on Saturday. The missiles were successfully launched around 5.30 hours.

The Prithvi II surface to surface ballistic missile with a range of 350 km was launched from Chandipur, some 230 kms from state capital Bhubaneswar, while Dhanush, a naval version of Prithvi with the same range, was launched from a naval ship off Orissa coast. Both Prithvi and Dhanush are single stage, liquid propelled systems, and each can carry a payload of 500 kg.
These apart, India is also planning the user trial of the nuclear-weapon capable surface-to-surface Agni-I, with a range of 700 km, on Sunday.
