(vIndianz, May 21 2010): The new Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is likely to be sold in India by the third quarter of the current fiscal. The new Merc sedan would come with an AMG 6.3-litre V8 front-mid-engine developing 420kW and peak torque of 650Nm, along with 7-speed double-declutch transmission, and 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels.
Built around an aluminum space frame body, the car would boast of capabilities that would make it accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG would have an electronically limited top speed of 317 km/h.
It is likely that the car would sport a higher price tag compared with the pricing in Europe. This would be due to higher import duty and other taxes, said reports. It is being speculated that the pricing would be around Rs 6 crore for the car in India. Would you go for the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG when it arrives? Let us know.
