vIndianz.com (22 Mar, 2010): Chattisgarh: Just as the two-day bandh called by Maoists across West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhatisgarh, Orissa and Andhra Pradesh began, activists blew up a small bridge in East Singhbhum in Jharkhand using landmines. They also blasted a railway track in West Midnapore in West Bengal.
Apart from the six states, bandh call has been given for three districts of Maharashtra. The Maoists have called the bandh in protest against the Union Budget, alleging the proposals were anti-poor and prepared as per the World Bank diktat.
