vIndianz.com (30 Oct, 2009) — A day following Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said there would be no prerequisite conditions to peace talks with Pakistan, the Pakistani army fired mortar shells in the Keran sector of North Kashmir to press on in militants.
The army says they have recovered weapons and ammunition and an identity card belonging to Pakistani soldier Zohib Ayaz. Two radio sets, a map and a cellular phone with an Indian SIM card were too recovered from the area.
These are proof that belies Pakistan’s claims that it is just non-state actors similar to LeT, Hizbul and Jaish that function in Kashmir.
“About 14 rounds of mortar shells were fired on our positions from across, after which movement was too observed. We retaliated with small weapons and after searches of the area, we recovered dead body of two terrorist, weapons and ammunition, and an identity card of a Pakistani solider,” said Lt Colonel J S Brar, Defence representative, Kashmir.
The army has currently asked for a flag meeting with the Pakistan army to dispute against the ceasefire infringement. Since Thursday, two militants have been killed in a major army offensive against infiltration on the snow covered mountains in the Tanghdar sector.
