vindianz.com (16 Dec, 2009) — Former BJP leader and MP Jaswant Singh has resigned as chairman of the public accounts committee (PAC), a key parliamentary panel.
Singh quit on Monday and his resignation has been acknowledged, sources said. It is in effect from December 31.
The BJP had made a number of efforts to get him to quit the position ever since he was disqualified from the party previously this year for his controversial book, in which he praised Mohammad Jinnah.
However Singh refused to quit and the issue became a humiliation for the BJP. He was designated for the post while still a senior member of the party..
