vIndianz.com(14 Jan, 2010) — India on Thursday said that it was extremely troubled at the death and destruction caused by the earthquake in Haiti on Tuesday, and determined to offer one million dollars in cash for instant and emergency relief purposes in the nation.
“Communications with Haiti are at present hard. Nevertheless, it has been ascertained that all 140 personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) deployed with the United Nations are safe and sound. So are each and every one civil police officer deployed with the United Nations Mission in Haiti,” the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.
