vIndianz.com (Dec. 05, 2009) — Indian software industry is fast losing its low-priced objective lead? As it seems seeing the latest reports. According to the 2009 EE Times Global Salary & Opinion Survey, Engineers’ salaries in India and China have risen at a velocity quicker than that in some of their European counterparts similar to Japan and North America.
Nearly 40 per cent of the respondents in India have seen their salaries develop a great deal or somewhat higher than what they were 5 years ago, whereas just 34 per cent of respondents in Europe and 25 per cent of that in North America reported a hike throughout the same period.
The study says that opposition for engineering aptitude in India and its budding competitor China has got tougher in the preceding ten years as hardware and software companies have accelerated the transport of developed and design operations from Western locations to lower-cost parts of the globe. This budding competition frequently makes companies propose attractive incentives to employ skilled and experienced engineers, simply to lose them to rivals after a couple of years.
Nevertheless, although IT employees in both China and India have seen improved raises over the last few years than their counterparts in the developed world, bulk of the techies in the two countries still take home significantly less than their counterparts elsewhere, the study adds.
