vIndianz.com (21 Oct, 2009) — On Tuesday, India, China and Russia decided to mutually increase their trilateral collaboration in fighting worldwide terrorism and called for better democratization of global bodies.
External Affairs Minister S M Krishna held a meeting with his counterparts, Yang Jiechi of China and Sergei Lavrov of Russia, on an extensive assortment of regional and international issues in Bangalore.
A mutual announcement said the three ministers discussed ways to develop their trilateral cooperation on issues similar to international terrorism, the global financial predicament, climate change, energy security and the transformation of international bodies.
The revival of Taliban-led bloodshed in Afghanistan figured significantly in the negotiations.
This was the ninth trilateral meeting among foreign ministers of the three promising economies that hold the means to a rising international order.
“We discussed trilateral action against terrorism and transnational crime,” Krishna held at a joint press interaction with his counterparts from Russia and China.
Yang described the summit as a “very productive one” and underlined that it manifested a “new progress” in trilateral collaboration. He emphasized that the three countries shared “similar approaches” on regional and international issues.
Lavrov emphasized the requirement for improved assistance in fighting growing terrorism in Afghanistan and the widespread stake of the three countries in the reinstatement of tranquility and permanence in the violence-torn nation.
