vIndianz.com (Nov. 01, 2009) The confinement hearing of terror suspect David Coleman Headley, which was planned for December 4 at a court in Chicago, has been deferred until further notice.
Headley was in detention by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for purportedly scheming and designing the Mumbai terror attacks at the order of Lashkar-e-Toiba.
“The detention and initial trial for David Coleman Headley that was planned for Friday in US District Court in Chicago is cancelled and will not be held (as scheduled). There is no fresh date and no additional information on hand at this time,” US Attorney’s Office, Northern District of Illinois, announced in Chicago on Monday.
Headley’s trial was scheduled before US Magistrate Judge Arlander Keys. His lawyer John Theis was not present right away for comment.
The Attorney’s office added said the imprisonment trial for Tahawwur Hussain Rana, as well in custody on comparable to terror charges, would continue as per agenda on December 2 before Magistrate Judge Nan Nolan.
Both Headley and Rana were under arrest by the FBI in October on charged that they were plotting attacks in Denmark and India. They are as well under investigation for probable links to the terror strikes in Mumbai on November 26, 2008 which killed approximately 166 people.
