vIndianz.com (Aug. 24, 2009) — Google India has launched the Doodle 4 Google- My India logo contest, its first ever ‘doodling’ competition in the country, which would enable any school going kids in India between the 1st and the 10th standards to design their own version of Google logo.
Students will be registered online at www.google.co.in/doodle4google under three categories: (a) 1st to 3rd standards, (b) 4th to 6th standards and (c) 7th to 10th standards and they have to create a doodle for Google to show what India means to them.
The winning designs would be featured on Google India homepage, www.google.co.in, on Children’s Day and it will be seen by millions of Google users. The final winner will also win a laptop and a technology grant of Rs. 1 lakh for their school.
The judges for the contest will be the faculty and students of the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad.
The 45 best doodles will be chosen and displayed on the Doodle 4 Google website, where people can vote for their favourite doodle in each of the three age-categories.
The final winner will be decided by Google’s original doodler, Dennis Hwang, who created Google’s first doodles in 2000.
