vIndianz.com (28 Oct, 2009) — Today India made it very clear to its hostility to China’s involvement in projects relating to the Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir, stating it would treat any activity or event as “illegitimate”
External affairs minister S M Krishna stated India has in addition taken up the matter and issue up with China including those concerning to issuance of visas to Kashmiris on loose sheets as an alternative to passports and asked it to apply standardized visa norm for each and every one Indian national.
“Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India. Any activity by any country in Jammu and Kashmir is illegal and this has been made known to all concerned,” Krishna told reporters here in reply to a query about Chinese contribution in developmental projects in PoK.
China is supporting Pakistan in building a mega power project and building of a highway in Karakoram Range in PoK. Chinese President Hu Jintao, through his meeting with Pakistan Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani in Beijing lately, emphasized his country’s dedication to these projects.
Krishna, who held discussion with his Chinese equivalent Yang Jiechi here yesterday, believed the topic concerning issuance of visas to Kashmiris was discussed.
“They (Chinese side) said they made no prejudice. We are insisting that there must be a standardized visa rule for Indian nationals,” Krishna said.
To a problem about India not being seen as forceful with reference to China, he said New Delhi seeks relationships with everybody as equivalent and based on reciprocated respect, in spite of of any nation’s economic or military force.
