(vIndianz April 5 2010): Pakistan’s north western capital of Peshawar was rocked by a series of powerful explosions on Monday. Authorities and security officials were not able to give the cause of the explosions.

Meanwhile, media visuals showed a heavy mushroom cloud and smoke rising into the air over the garrison part of the city, close to the US consulate and the Peshawar headquarters of Pakistan’s top spy agency, which was targeted last November.
A heavy sound of gunfire is heard at that time. Peshawar, on the edge of Pakistan’s tribal belt infested with Al-Qaeda and Taliban fighters, has been subject to multiple attacks by Islamist militants many a time.
