vIndianz.com (9 Mar, 2010) — New Delhi: In a bid to resolve differences over the contentious Women’s Reservation Bill, the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday met with the three Yadav leaders.
The violent protests by the Samajwadi Party, Janata Dal-United and the Rashtriya Janata Dal had on Monday blocked voting on the Bill that had promised 33 percent reservation for women in Parliament and state legislatures.
The three leaders, Mulayam Singh Yadav (SP), Sharad Yadav(JD-United) and Lalu Prasad (RJD) had asked the Prime Minister to convene an all party meeting to discuss the issues relating to the Bill, as they said that the Bill cannot be passed in its current form.
