vIndianz.com (Sept. 01, 2009) — The Election Commission announced that the assembly elections in Maharashtra, Haryana and Arunachal Pradesh will be held in a single phase on October 13. And counting of votes will take place on October 22.
Chief Election Commissioner Navin Chawla announced that the filing of nomination would begin on September 18 and the last date for withdrawal is September 25. The process will be over by October 25.
Maharashtra has 288 Assembly seats with 29 seats being reserved for SCs and another 25 for STs. The Haryana has 90 seats with 17 seats resereved for SCs and Arunachal Pradesh has a 60 seats with 59 reserved for STs
