Golden eagles in Scotland acquire enhanced shelter

vIndianz.com (Dec. 01, 2009) — Plans to augment shelter and safeguard for golden eagles are owed to be announced by the Scottish government. Environment Minister Roseanna Cunningham will provide particulars of six latest Special Protection Areas (SPAs) in the north and west of Scotland. This will bring the figure of SPAs in Scotland to 14.

golden_eagleHowever the firms in the wake of a controversial wind farm suggestion near Inverary in Argyll have called for the progress to be put on hold. They have said it would purify and sanitize for years, large areas of Scotland appropriate for renewable development because they may descend within a Special Protection Area in future.

Scottish Natural Heritage has said the intimidation to the country’s golden eagles consist of unsuitable development and land management; loss of habitat and disturbance.

So far this year two eagles have been unlawfully killed, both by a forbidden pesticide.
