vIndianz.com (9 Feb, 2010) — Mumbai: Soon after happy news coming from Hyderabad on Monday regarding job offering for students, its confirmed that the hiring time is back again as more reports say recruitment is catching up in metros like Mumbai and Kolkata.
Reports say that jobs are not restricted to IT alone and not in the campus alone. The recruitment has caught up with senior-level too in media, entertainment, finance, pharma et al .
“Recruitments of very senior executives in 2009 was down by 20 per cent compared with the boom periods of 2007 and 2008. While Ma Foi staffs 120 senior executives per year, the requirement had come down to 100 executives last year. But, by the second half of 2010, the job market should be back to the days of the 2007-2008 boom period,” asserts Hastha Krishnan, CEO, Ma Foi Global Search Service is quoted as saying in Business Standard.
“Senior-level hiring in the media industry, too, is picking up and professionals can expect a 15 per cent hike in salary structure in 2010. In 2009, there was a freeze on hiring senior positions and hardly any change in salaries,” Sanjay Das, senior vice-president at Media Guru, told the financial paper.
One analyst opined that it’s the small and medium IT companies, rather than the major ones, that are likely to invest in hiring senior people who could grow their businesses.
